Robert "Bob" Cullen (reporter, author, golfer, teacher)
An award-winning journalist with twenty years of experience in Washington and Moscow, Robert Cullen has won critical acclaim and a wide readership as a novelist.
One of his first books was The Killer Department, a true life account of the reign of terror of Russia's first accepted serial killer Andrei Chikatilo. Published in 1993, it was made into a film (called "Citizen X") starring Irish actor Stephen Rea in 1995.
As well as this true life crime book, Cullen has also written a number of crime and political novels, revolving around the character of Colin Burke, an editor at the Washington Tribune who makes a name for himself investigating stories of political intrigue and corruption in the former USSR.
Under the shortened name "Bob Cullen", Robert spends a lot of his time writing golf travel stories and has also penned a golf novel "A Mulligan For Bobby Jobe". He has his own golf website, www.bobcullengolf.com
He is the co-coach of the Central High School golf team in Seat Pleasant, MD.
I've read "The Killer Department" and seen "Citizen X" and I have to say it is both an engrossing book and a well-acted film.
Heidi Cullen (climatologist, TV presenter)
One quick look at her resume alerts you that Heidi Cullen isn’t your “normal” journalist who took college courses, let’s be honest here, in large part to avoid dicey courses dealing with things like statistics, coefficients, and math generally.
Cullen, in fact, is perhaps even more comfortable with issues involving engineering and paleoclimatology than she is with journalism’s venerable, if aged, “5 Ws” and inverted pyramid.
Now in her fourth year as The Weather Channel’s (TWC) climate program manager, Cullen is the only known climatologist in the nation with her own weekly national TV program, the half-hour “Forecast Earth.”

The project, the purpose
Okay. My name is Robert Cullen and I am the editor of a local newspaper, the Sligo Weekender, in Sligo, Ireland. I have seen a number of famous people online with my surname so I wanted to collate them together in one blog. Cullen is not a common Irish surname. There are only a few thousand in Ireland (out of a population of 5 million).
