Robert "Bob" Cullen (reporter, author, golfer, teacher)
An award-winning journalist with twenty years of experience in Washington and Moscow, Robert Cullen has won critical acclaim and a wide readership as a novelist.
One of his first books was The Killer Department, a true life account of the reign of terror of Russia's first accepted serial killer Andrei Chikatilo. Published in 1993, it was made into a film (called "Citizen X") starring Irish actor Stephen Rea in 1995.
As well as this true life crime book, Cullen has also written a number of crime and political novels, revolving around the character of Colin Burke, an editor at the Washington Tribune who makes a name for himself investigating stories of political intrigue and corruption in the former USSR.
Under the shortened name "Bob Cullen", Robert spends a lot of his time writing golf travel stories and has also penned a golf novel "A Mulligan For Bobby Jobe". He has his own golf website, www.bobcullengolf.com
He is the co-coach of the Central High School golf team in Seat Pleasant, MD.
I've read "The Killer Department" and seen "Citizen X" and I have to say it is both an engrossing book and a well-acted film.
